Get to Know Me
I have been working in the field of mental health for over a decade now and love what I do. I graduated from University of Maryland College Park with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Psychology. To further my career, I went to the University of Maryland at Baltimore to obtain my Masters in Social Work (MSW).
I am a board certified licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), and I hold active licensures for the states of Maryland and Virginia. I started my career as a residential counselor, working for a small non-profit company where I learned the basic skills of working with individuals in need.
My experience includes working in crisis stabilization programs, family services agencies, and a managed care organization, in all of which I have provided individual and group therapy for patients.
I have extensive experience in working with individuals who suffer from trauma, depression, and anxiety. I am certified in the Trauma Recovery and Empowerment Model (TREM). I have also received multiple certifications and trainings in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and dual diagnosis. I have given presentations about trauma informed care, motivational interviewing in therapeutic sessions, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
